A pastor tenant who lived in the compound house I was renting contacted me for a backdrop for his church. I must admit that it was my first time I was doing something that size. 15feet by 7 feet was the measurement I took for the backdrop. Imposter syndrome normally creeps in when it’s the first time taking on a project like this, you may feel intimidated to execute such a project because of sheer size or some other fear. Do not feel overwhelmed; break it down to manageable task.
Three different software in the Adobe suite was used in this project;
- Photoshop – To manipulate images, create transparency for some images, to create the background
- Illustrator – For text information, logo
- InDesign – To put everything together.
It was easy to use InDesign in this case to composite the backdrop was because I had broken the project into modules.
This work went through several revisions, at some point I felt the client didn’t have clarity about what exactly he wanted or he couldn’t communicate it clearly. It was a sign of relief when the project was green lighted to be printed.
Below are some images of the project. I designed some flyers for him after this project.
