A friend approached me sometime back to help her sell some smock and Northern Kente by marketing it to my friends. An idea came to mind that I should present them in a very attractive way and test the market, instead of just taking raw photographs and sharing on my whatsapp status. The idea was to increase the perceived value.

This forced me to go online and find some resources that will help me create some exciting  digital flyers to share online. I added some basic information about the cloth and smocks, for example, the size, number of yards, colors, contact numbers; standard information.

I went ahead to create a Facebook page called Nord Royale (Nord=North , Royale=Royal) so that if she ordered new stock, I will  market them on the page. With the help of my good friend Irene, we shared it on our whatsapp status everyday.

Pros and Cons
We garnered a few interests, with some so far away from us that the delivery cost put them off. Weeks dragged on and we sold a few, her friend offered to put them in her shop and that’s how we sold the rest. We soon released having a shop and word of mouth sold products like clothing faster than online (my opinion).

The conclusion is still brainstorm innovative ways to sell products, when one way doesn’t work, try another.
