Most people I know celebrate birthdays and its even more special when you receive gifts from loved ones. A lady wanted to surprise her boyfriend on his birthday, she approached me for ideas of what I think her boyfriend may love (a guys point of view).
Singlets and boxers are over used gifts though wonderful because they are stuff guys use on a daily basis. I suggested she customizes a mug with his picture on it. She borrowed his phone sent me a picture and deleted the conversation so he wouldn’t suspect.
I went through some trouble trying to get the mug printed because most vendors told me they don’t take single orders, they preferred bulk. One vendor friend accepted to help me but he didn’t have mugs in stock so i had to go buy my own mugs. I dashed to this dealer of imported kitchen-ware where they sold these plain mugs for tea, I bought 2 mugs. I received sad news, those where not the right mugs. The mugs needed were called sublimation mugs, please note that so that you don’t commit the same blunder in the future. Had to go to Accra – Makola to get a few although I later learnt that I could also get some at Circle – Accra. Enough of my woes.
The mugs were printed, her boyfriend(my friend) was happy and their relationship has lead to marriage. I am happy to be part of the journey.
